Laugh More, Love Deeper

Marriage can get serious.

Bills need to be paid. Kids need attention. Work brings pressure. Schedules fill up. Difficult conversations happen. And sometimes, couples can become so focused on managing life that they forget to simply enjoy one another.

That's where laughter matters.

A shared laugh can interrupt tension, soften a difficult moment, and remind you that you're not just partners managing responsibilities. You're two people who are meant to enjoy life together.

Laughter doesn't make problems disappear. It doesn't replace honest conversations or meaningful conflict resolution. But it can create breathing room when marriage starts to feel heavy.

Think about what happens when you laugh with your spouse.

Your shoulders relax.

The tension changes.

You feel connected.

For a moment, you're not thinking about the disagreement, the deadline, or tomorrow's schedule. You're simply enjoying the person beside you.

And those moments matter.

A healthy marriage needs room for playfulness.

Watch something that makes you both laugh. Bring back an inside joke. Tell your spouse a funny story from your day. Dance around the kitchen. Be silly together. Remember something ridiculous that happened when you were dating.

Don't underestimate the power of ordinary joy.

Christian marriage isn't meant to be lived under constant pressure. There is room for joy, celebration, friendship, playfulness, and delight.

Sometimes couples become so focused on fixing their marriage that they forget to enjoy their marriage.

So ask yourself:

When was the last time we genuinely laughed together?

If you can't remember, don't feel guilty.

Start today.

Put down the phones. Find something funny. Share a memory. Make each other laugh.

Your marriage doesn't have to be serious every minute to be strong.

Sometimes, one of the simplest ways to reconnect is to laugh together.

Because the couple that can laugh together can create moments of light even when life gets heavy.
